Here we are enjoying the beach at Fort Fisher together in North Carolina. I love my mama and I love this soft place to land. It is good to be at home again on the east coast where we’re relocating.
Thank you for your patience with less newsletters in your inbox the last six weeks. After Hours will be back on a regular schedule starting this Thursday but for now, we’ve haultailed it across the country, looked at 28 homes, found a preschool, and all the things.
We are peaceful and present together and thankful for the support of our friends, families, and community. I’ll write more about our move thisFall (including how I sobbed over my beloved nine-foot fiddle, Frank, and how he landed in the most loving home in the most redemptive way possible), but for now, here’s our little crew, happy/sad to leave Los Angeles for good.
We made a pit stop in Texas to spend time with family, work from the panhandle, and rest a bit in my in-loves gorgeous backyard. Here’s our beloved Mamo snuggling her grandbabies and Papa Da helping the little ones feed the fish. (They didn’t feed a thing with their terrible throws, by the way.)
I’ve scheduled guests to share with you over the next couple of weeks while we get settled. An interview with my friend, Jasmine (Head Merchant and Culture Transformer at Reebok and founder of Love 101 - God, this one is so good - I cannot wait to share it with you); a piece from Grace Cho, a tender, beautiful soul; a re-share from my dearest friend Harmony; maybe a few more, if I can get my life together from those who offered to help while we plant our feet on the ground in North Carolina.
Just wanted to say hello, let you know where I am, and tell you that I’m grateful for your company. This internet neighborhood thrives because you’re here.
Happy Sunday, friends - love to love you.
Ashley
Good for you, Ashley! It takes guts to uproot and re-plant; I send you blessings of strength and patience with the move. Where in NC??
Was just hunting for an update and look what was in my inbox!!!! Yes and amen to every word!
